With over 25 years of experience, ranging from the meticulous restoration of 1830s landmarks in Mystic, Connecticut to energy-efficient modern homes in Southern Rhode Island, the brothers provide a comprehensive, hands-on approach to every phase of building. Supported by a team of talented craftspeople who share their commitment to excellence, Eric and Chris ensure every detail, from framing to fine millwork, meets the highest standards. Backed by a dedicated office management team and decades of executive consulting experience, Saint Construction remains committed to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and enduring quality in every project they touch.
Our Story
Saint Construction Company began as a family business built from the ground up - one house, one renovation, and one hard lesson at a time. On February 28, 2000, we purchased our very first one hundred year old multifamily rental property. It was the worst house on a good street; overgrown, neglected, and full of problems, but we saw potential where others saw failure. We renovated it, repaired it, refinanced it, and used everything we learned to buy the next property… and then the next one… and the next one after that.
Eight years later, we had grown to fifteen houses and thirty-nine rental units. Every apartment had been gutted, rebuilt, repaired, and rented. Then on October 9, 2008, the Dow plunged, the recession hit, and the banks abruptly stopped lending. Our entire game plan changed - literally overnight.
As a family-run business, we adapted the only way we knew how: by working harder. We shifted into new construction, additions, renovations, and commercial projects while our rental properties helped keep us afloat during some very difficult years. Those early properties became our training ground. Because we did everything ourselves in the beginning, we gained an understanding of construction that can only come from years of hands-on experience. We weren’t simply hiring subcontractors and overseeing projects from a distance - we were inside the walls, under the floors, repairing foundations, replacing framing, solving water intrusion issues, rebuilding staircases, installing trim, tile work, roofing, flooring and figuring out firsthand why buildings fail from previous owners.
Every old house revealed another hidden problem, and every problem taught us something valuable. That experience is what makes us better builders today. We know what to look for because we have uncovered it ourselves. We know what corners should never be cut because we have spent years repairing the damage caused by when they were. We understand not only how a home should look when it’s finished, but how it should be built behind the walls so it lasts for generations. What we learned was simple: Do it right the first time, and you won’t have to come back.
Saint Construction is owned and operated by brothers Eric and Chris Saint, both graduates of the University of Rhode Island. Eric graduated in 1999 with a degree in Pre-Med/Exercise Science, and Chris in 2001 with a degree in Environmental Biology. Rather than following traditional career paths, they chose to build something of their own together.
Today, Saint Construction has become known for building and renovating high-end coastal homes throughout Southern Rhode Island and Connecticut. From historic restorations to custom new construction, we handle projects from foundation to finish with a focus on craftsmanship, durability, and detail. Despite the company’s growth, it remains deeply family-oriented. Eric and Chris continue to lead projects personally and stay actively involved on-site throughout the construction process rather than managing from behind a desk. Linda Saint continues overseeing the office, rental operations, Social Media and much of the company’s day-to-day coordination, helping keep the business grounded in the same values it was built on over two decades ago.
The years spent restoring old homes proved invaluable. They taught us not only how to build beautiful homes, but how to build them correctly. That experience continues to shape every project we take on today. What started as “the worst house on a good street” became the foundation of a company built on resilience, experience, craftsmanship, and family.
